MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Friday, April 26. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.] Breaking Into and Stealing ykom a Shop.— Henry Johnstone and William Beaumont were brought up charged with breaking into the shop of H. Marks, fruiterer, High street, and stealing fruit and lollies from the same. The evidence produced confirmed the particulars of the case already published by us. Henry Johnstone was sent to the Industrial School for twelve months, to be brought up in the United Methodist religion, and William Beaumont for four years, to he brought up in the religion of the Church of England. Neglected Children. —Alfred Wheeler applied to have Mary Rockett Wheeler and Cecilia Wheeler sent to the Industrial School because ho could not manage them. His application was refused.
