Rotorua arrived from Sydney, via Auckland and East Coast at 8.45 a.m. She sails for Port Chalmers this afternoon. The Victoria from Newcastle, Jane from Welling, ton, and Alma from Greymouth, arrived in harbour this morning. . , „ The Especulador, barque, arrived from Newcastle yesterday, anchoring off tho Breakwater at 2 p.m. Captain Powell informs us that he got away from Newcastle on March 31st, and met with strong S.W. winds up to April 4th, when the wiud died away to calm for two days. It freshened again from the eastward, and blew a fresh gale to April Bth, accompanied by heavy rain squalls and a high Bea. This was succeeded by S.E. weather, veering to S. and S.S.W., Cape Farewell being made on Monday at daylight. Variable winds then prevailed, Cape Campbell being r.unded on Tuesday, the barque arriving as above. The Lochnaw, barque, from Newcastle, anchored off the Breakwater at 2 p.m. yesterday. Her master. Captain Clark, reports leaving Newcastle on March 36th, and experiencing moderate westerly ■winds for the first week out, then light S.E. and thick weather for five days. Made the laud near Farewell on Saturday night, and cleared Cook's Straits on Monday. Had fresh S.E. and N.W. ■winds along the coast, sighting the Heads on Thursday afternoon, and arriving as above.
