ROAD BOARDS.
, » AVON. The Board met on April Ist. Present — The chairman and all the members. The surveyor's report was read and considered. With regard co the bridge over the creek by Mr S. Bealey's property, the clerk was instructed to inform him that the Board oould not do any more than form the approach. Correspondence was read from the Selwyn County Council re public cemetery and domains. The chairman was requested to attend the meeting, and the clerk was instructed to write to the Selwyn County Council to that effect. A requisition was received from inhabitants of Papanui, requesting the chairman to call a public meeting to consider the propositions of the Tramway Company. The clerk was instructed to advertise public meeting of ratepayers for Friday, at seven o'clock. Letter was received from Christohurch Drainage Board, enclosing copy of legal opinion relative to copy of assessment roll. The clerk was instructed to reply. The surveyor was instructed to have the side ditches cleaned out on the North road by Mr R. Wilson's. Requisition was received from inhabitants of Papanui, asking the Board to form road from I'apanui road between sections 304 and 307. It was decided that the road Bhould be formed upon those interested agreeing to pay half the cost. With regard to forming footpath at New Brighton, the surveyor was instructed to prepare repjrt and estimate by next meeting. Accounts to the amount of £544 0s 7d were passed and. ordered to be paid,
