The Spray, from Picton, arrived in harbor at 11 last evening The W ild Wave sailed for Napier this morning. The s.s. Southern Cross arrived from Napier at 7 a.in., and satis on her return trip to-morrow with a cargo of sheep. The b.s. Wanaka arrived from Port Chalmers at 11 a.rn., and sails for Auckland via Ease Coast this afternoon. The s.s. Eas'by sails for Dunedin at 1 p.m. this day. Messrs Cull! and Graham’s schooner Mand Graham has loaded tin.her for this port at the Whatipu mills, XVlannkau Heads, Messrs G. W. Owens nnd Co.’s new brigantine Lapwing sailed from Auckland ou March 23rd. She was bound to the Thames, where she loads timber for this port. The barque Planter, wbich left Hobart Town for this port on March 22nd, brines the following cargo —31,000 ft. sawn timber, 35.000 palings, 055,000 shingles, and 170 cases jam. Caxjtain H. Kobinson is lu command. The Auguste Freidrich sailed from Newcastle for H"Ug Eoug on March 10th. The Australian Sovereign arrived at Newcastle from Lyttelton on March 18th, and ou same date the barque Queensland left Newcastle for this port wit b. iiS tons coal. was inward bound, working up the harbor. When olf Taylor Bay, being tben on the port tack, a steamer’s red light was seen by the crew of the schooner, bnt close aboard; the steamer s green light was suddenly opened, and immediately after the Easby struck the Northern Light at the fore rigging, cutting her completely down and sinking her under foot, the crew being rescued by the steamer’s boat.
