THE Jurors of the Intercolonial Exhibition of 1866 and 1867 awarded the ONLY PRIZE MEDAL For Fluid Magnesia to Mr KRUSE. Accompanying their report is the result of Mr J. Cosmo Newberry’s analysis, by which it appears that one fluid ounce of Kruse’s Magnesia contains fifty per cent, of Carbonate of Magnesia in excess of any other Magnesia exhibited. TARAXICUM and PODOPHYLLIN, a Stimulant to the Liver.—A dose of this combination is recommended for liver derangement, more particularly when arising from slight congestion. By gently stimulating the liver and slightly moving the bowels, the heavy drowsy feeling and headache, with, generally, pains in the cheat and back, especially after eating, are dissipated. Taraxicum and Podophyllin is much safer in its action than calomel or blue pill, and certainly quite equal in power in removing the often distressing inconvenience and pain attendant on dyspepsia. In America this remedy is very highly esteemed and approved.
