GERALDINE COUNTY COUNCIL.

[By Telegraph.] [from the correspondent or the press.] Txmaetj, March 27. The Q-eraldine County Council held their annual meeting at Temuka to-day, all the members being present. Mr Postlethwaite was re-elected chairman for the ensuing year. He repotted that a mass of correspondence hod been received since last meeting, and he had to attend to it. The following resolutions were passed : “ That in the opinion of this Council the monies arising from surplus land fund, payable to the county of Geraldine during the current financial year be divided amongst the various Road Boards in the county in the following proportions:—Temuka, 16£ per cent. ; Levels, 161; Mount Peel, 21; Q-eral-dine, 22 ; Mount Cook, 24.” “ That all other county revenue be divided as follows : —Mount Cook, 12 per cent.; Levels, 40; Geraldine, 14 ; Mount Peel, 8; Temuka, 25.” It is probable the chairman will be requested to call a special meeting of the Council at an early date to consider the question of bringing the Counties Act into full force.
