[pee PRESS AGENCY.] Auckland, March 16. A deiiitructive fire occurred at Eden terrace last night, by which Suiter’s brewery and two houses were destroyed. The buildings completely destroyed by the fire last night are Suiter’s brewery, office and outhouses, Watts’ five-roomed dwelling Douse, and Taylor’s boot and shoe shop. The brewery cost £2BOO, the plant £7500 ; Mrs Sutton’s house, £250. The following are the insurances—Norwich Union : brewery, £875; plant and stock, £400; total, £1275. New Zealand: stock and plant, £SOO. Watts’ house, £150; Taylor’s house, £150; total, £BOO. National: brewery, £6OO. Grand total, £2675. An accident happened with a steam-thresh-ing machine working at the Whan, A man’s foot was caught {u tffe hopper by the revolving drum. A meeting of the promoters of the company to be formed under the District Railways Act, Jto construct tho line from Otatatu, branching to the Nightcap pqaj measures, on the way to the Wajho Valley, was held this afternoon. It was resolved to apply to the Waste Lands Board for a prospecting site on the Government reserves at the N ightoap.
