Tho steamer Chimborazo struck on the rocks in Jervis Bay, and afterwards drifted into Jervis Bay. Numerous deaths from typhoid have occurred near Sydney. The residents are burning the houses.

[PBB PRESS AGENCY.] Wellington, March 15. A telegram has been received announcing that the Alhambra left Melbourne on Wednesday with a large quantity of salmon ova, ex Chimborazo, and apparently in good condition. After a good mnny meetings, a fairlyattended meeting was held, and it was resolved to establish a Reform Association, and a committee was appointed to arrange a programme and frame resolutions, to be submitted at a future meeting. Westport, March 14 Tenders are called for constructing the railway and self-acting incline for the Coalbrookdale Coal Company, Mount Roohfort. This will be an extension of the Wellington Company's line, and will open up some of the best coal in the district.
