The Dublin "Expvoss," of loth of November last, has the following comment on Australian meats :—There is a considerable difference of opinion amongst the medical authorities of the North Dublin Union on the subject of Australian beef. It was proposed to give it to the paupers to eat, but one medical gentleman declarod it wholly unfit for the purpose, while anothor was wholly in favour of it, and a third would give it to the healthy paupers, but not to the sick. Finally the question was allowed to drop. Probably all that is necessary to bring Australian beef into large use is a s-.iisfactory assurance of its wholesomeness; but at present can any one be sure (setting aside, of course, the respectability of the individual manufacturer) that the tin does not contain portions of an Australian native or a horse, or that the lead soldering has not been pois'oaously affected by the acide oi the meat,
