Mails close at the Chief Post Offloa for the following plaoes as under, aubjeot to necessary alterations : SATURDAY, MARCH 9. For Chatham Islands, per Omaha, at 11 a.m. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. For Otago, per Wakatipn, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m. train. MONDAY, MARCH 11. For Otago, overland, at G a.m. For Nelson and Westport, per Maori, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 ; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. For Wellington, Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth, per Luna, at 3 p.m. ; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m. train, Mails per Arawata will close as under— For United Kingdom via Southampton and Brindisi, at 1 p.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For the Australian Colonies, Continent of Enropo, India, China, and the East, Otago, &c, at 1 p.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. Money orders at 11 a.m. For registered letters, books, and newspapers, at noon. Late letters can be posted in the guard's van attached to the 2.40 p.m. train for Lyttelton, provided such letters bear in addition to the full postage a further single rate as a late fee. SYDNEY J.
