Government steam launch, and was built in Scotland, and came out to Wellington in the ship Forfarshire. Captain Casey, of Auckland, purchase 1 her, and has been running her at the Bay of Islands for the last twelve months. She is built entirely of teak, and her bottom is sheathed with galvanized iron. Her rate of speed is nine knots, and we understand her engines are in excellent repair, and that a new boiler has been recently fitted. She was licensed to carry thirty passengers up North, and is well fitted with necessary gear, and in a good state of repair. Tlie carriage of the boat from the North cost Mr Vince the large sum of £75. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Nelson, February 26. Lefttbo Docks on November 19tb, aud lost sight of land on December Ist. Made the laud here on February 12th. Had a fair weather passage. She brings a full cargo, aud about twenty passengers. Auckland, February 27. The Taranaki sailed for the South yesterday afternoon. Passengers for Lyttelton—Dr. and Mrs Smith, Mr Wilkin, Mrs Jackman. Wellington, February 27. Sailed—Aspasia, for Lyttelton. Bluff, February 27. Arrived—Tarama. She left Melbourne on the 20th, at 5 p.m.; arrived at Hobart Town on the 22nd; left next day, arriving at the Bluff this morning. She experienced fine weather during the passage. She brings 56 saloon, 48 steerage passengers, and 320 tons cargo for all ports. She sails for Dunedin at 4 p in. Passengers—saloon : For Lyttelton, Messrs Cowell, Graham, Jewitt, Goodman, Beaumont, Mr, Mrs, and Master Garrick; six in steerage; 30 tons cargo.
