PAST INTERPEOVINCIAL MATCHES. Below we give the results of the interprovincial matches between Otagoand Canterbury since their commencement in 1864. It will be seen that out of the fifteen matches played Canterbury has won eight, Otago six, and one in 1869 was drawn; Canterbury has therefore •won two games more than Otago, and latterly the defeats of the neighboring province have been very severe : 1864—Otago won by 74 runs. 1865 —Canterbury won by four wickets. 1866 —Otago won by two wickets. 1867—Otago won in one innings and 37 runs. 1858—Otago won by nine wickets. 1869—February: Drawn; Canterbury having 17 runs to make to win, and three wickets to fall. 1869 -December: Otago won by four wickets. 1871—January: Canterbury won in one innings and 2D runs. 1871—December: Canterbury won by ten wickets. 1873—Canterbury won in one innings and 31 runs. 1874 —Otago won in one innings and 28 rum?. 1875—Canterbury won in one innings and 151 runs. 1876—Canterbury won by 142 runs. 1877 —Canterbury won by 150 runs. 1878 —Canterbury won by nine wickets.
