A Temperance meeting was held last night, under the auspices of the Reehabito dels gates. The Provincial Ball was crowded. The Hon. W. Fox delivered a long aud interesting address. The presentation of a handsomely bound edition of Shakspenre was made to Brother Bond by Mr Alfred Saunders, on behalf of the local Good Templar lodges. Blenheim, February 21. In consequence of heavy rain, the races have been postponed from day to day. Wellington, February 21. Tbe Soldenes opened to a good house last night, and made a, hit. An unusually heavy rain is falling. Dunedin, February 21.
A meeting of tbe Early Closing Association was held last night. Addresses were delivered by a number of leading citizens, and motions were cirried affirming the pi inciple of shutting the shops at six on Saturdays, and pledging to support the movement.
