Globe Oflice, Saturday, 2 p.m. A large number of farmers are in town to-day, and a considerable amount of business has taken place in the grain market. Wheat shows a slight decline on previous rates, farmers being anxious to make sales are falling in with buyers views. Oats and barley are without any alteration. Butter.—A large parcel was declined at a concession on late rates. The revenue collected at the Custom-house on Thursday, February 14th, amounted to £932 8s 10d. The items were:—Spirits, £302 16s Id ; wine, £3B 15s 3d; nle in bottle, £35 15s; tobacco, £SB 15sj tea, £142 9s 2d; sugar, £llO 5s 2d; goods by weight, £SB 5s 2d; ad valorem, £l7O 10s; other duties, £24185. THE SHARE MARKET. Mr E. J. T. Ford reports upon the share market for the week ending February 15th as follows : Sales —National Bank, 72s 6d to 745; Colonial Bank, 48s 6d, ex div.; Union Insurance, 13s 6d. Sellers—Colonial Bank, 495, ex div.; New Zealand Insurance, 100 s; National Insurance, 31s; Standard Insurance (new issue), Is 6d premium; South British, 80s ; Wellington Gas (20s paid up),sos. Buyers—National Bank, 735; Colonial Bank, 48s, . ex div.; National Insurance, 30s; Standard Insurance (new issue), Is premium; Union Insurance, 13s 6d ; New Zealand Shipping,, 765, ex div. ; Canterbury Saleyards, £5 10s. COMMERCIAL TELEGRAMS. Auckland, February 15, Fat cattle, last week’s value was barely sustained; fat sheep, an average supply; lambs, lower by a shilling. Share Market.—Sales—Bank of New Zealand, £23 15s; National Bank, 72s 6d; buyers, 72s 6d , Colonial Bank, 50s 6d. Sellers—South British Insurance, 79a; Union, 18s 6d; Caledonian mining, 625; Moanatairis, 725; Alburnian 655. New Plymouth, February 15. Two-year-old heifers, £5 10s; yearlings, £3; cows at calving, £6 10s to £9 ss. Wellington, February 15. Produce prices are as follows Flour, colonial, £l3 10s to £l4 ; Adelaide, £lB 10s; oats, 4s 3d to 4s 6d; bran. Is 2d to Is 3d ; hams, 9d; bacon, 8d; cheese, 7d; potatoes, £6; pollard, £6 10s to £7; maize, 5s to 5s 3d ; butter, lOd to Is for prime. Timaru, February 15. The weather is now changed. A south-east wind is blowing, accompanied by heavy rain. The crops are already beginning to suffer.
