DUNEDIN TRAINING- NOTES

[By Teleobaph.]

[rKOM THE COEBESPONDENT OP THE PBESS.J Dunedin, February 15.

A cold wind was blowing this morning, but as the weather was fine, and nothing had been done yesterday, most of the horses did good work. Oberon with rug on was sent twice round outside the hurdles at three-quarter speed, the two-year-old Atlantic (stripped) joining in at the last three-quarters of a mile and finishing fast. The last round was done in 2min. 13sec. Wattle stripped Cloth of Q-old, and took him once round slow, and he was then joined by the Virginia colt, who had gone half way round, and the pair raced together for a mile. Cloth of G-old was then cased off, and the colt finished the three miles with the Swede (in clothing.) This was a good serviceable gallop, and the son of Virginia shaped very well. The hurdle racer, Starlight, made his first appearance, Callaghan taking him three times round tho tan, and over some hurdles. Ho is said to be a son of Ravensworth, and is a big powerful horse, with good action, and apparently fast, but he did not negotiate his hurdles in at all a satisfactory manner.

This morning Q-oodman had out Chancellor, Satirist, and Maligner, but they did no work until late in tho forenoon. French gave Hippocampus and Venus Transit light work on the beach. Cotton took his clothing off Unknown, and gave him about two miles and a half, the last round fast. This cup outsider seems to be in his usual good form, and ho did the final round in 2min. lOsec. Little Dan accompanied him during part of tho spin, but was soon left behind. The hurdle racer Warwick was sent three times round outside the hurdles, and Haynes sent Kildare a like distance with Wattie up. Proceedings concluded with Callaghan putting Lynch upon Starlight, who is short of Work, and Bepcfiog UiW % ee outride tbe hurdles.
