ROAD BOARDS.

HEATHCOTE. The Board met at the usual hour on Thursday, the 7th instant, at the Board office. Present —Messrs Attwood (chairman), W. Hawker, R. Clephane, J. Sandford, and T. G. Moule. The clerk reported the receipt of £23 Is 6d, and the Bank balance as £659 13a 4d. The works committee reported on several works that were required to be done, and it was resolved to call for tenders. Several deputations interviewed the Board respecting works required in their immediate neighborhoods, and the works committee were to report. Complaints were made re tho practice of persona throwing rubbish of all kinds on the road, and the foreman was instructed to take proceedings against any person so offending. The following correspondence was read and considered —From Messrs Kennaway and Garland, asking that tho road might bo formed along the river and offering assistance. The chairman of tho works committee was asked to see as to the probable cost, &c, and report at tho next meeting. From Mr H. H. Loughnan, on behalf of Mr Vincent, complaining of a nuisance on River road. It was decided to forward letter to Local Board of Health. From the Borough Council of Sydenham, re interest on amount due by the Board. The clerk to reply. From Lyttelton and Heathcote Recreation Trust. It was decided to give £25 towards cost of fencing in the reserve. It was decided to form the Lower Avon road on payment of the amount (£10) promised. Accounts amounting to £266 10s 5d were ordered to be paid. The Board then adjourned.
