Labceny.—Annie Robinson, charged on remand with stealing some linen at Lyttelton, was remanded to Port, to be brought up there as soon as possible. LYTTELTON. [Before W. Donald, Esq., R.M., and H. R. Webb, T. H. Potts, and J. T. Rouse, Esqs., J.P.'s] TuEBDAY, FEBBUABY 12. Dbunkenness in Railway Pbemises.— James Williams was fined 20s for this offence. . - Lunacy.—Nelson Ranson was remanded till to-morrow. Dbunkennbss on Rulway.—Dugald Patterson was fined 20s. Labceny.—Mary Ann Robinson, on remand from Christchurch, was accused of this offence. The prosecutor, Alice Walsh, proved the offence, which accused admitted. The Bench sentenced prisoner to six weeks' imprisonment in Lyttelton gaol. Bbeach of Public-house Obdinance.— John S. Cameron, licensee of the Mitre Hotel, was charged with keeping his house open during prohibited hours, and also with permitting gambling on the morning of the 30th January last. Mr H. N. Nalder appeared for the defence. From the evidence it appeared no gambling had taken place, but that two gentlemen who had engaged a private room for business purposes had ordered a bottle of wine about half-past ten, part of which was drank after 11 p;m. The Bench dismissed the information regarding the gambling, but fined the licensee £5 for allowing the wine to be drunk on his premises after 11 p.m.
