Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to necessary alterations THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 7. For Otago, overland, at 0 a.m. For Otago, per Easby, at 9.50 a.m.; late letters, 10.10 a.m.; railway station, 10.30 a.m. train. For Northern ports per Taranaki, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m, train. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 8. For Otago, overland, at 11 a.m. The next Eng ish mail (via Southampton and Brindisi) will close at Christchurch on or about Monday, February 11th, at 1 p.m. SIDNEY J. DICK. Chief Posting iter.
