Although we do not, on this occasion, publish our usual catalogue of articles f<r sale and the reductions in price shown the-eon, we still have sufficient variety to show our customer a good assortment, and we venture to say that much as we have s crificed goods of these classes, at the end of the previous seas, ns we have never given such inducements to purchasers as w. shall place before them on this occasion, Unusually Liberal Discounts have been marked oa Men's Mercery, Hats, Caps, hirts, Uunderclothi:>g, &c , and also on lien's, Boys', and Youth's Clothing of our own importation as well as those manufactured by ourselves from Mosgiel Tweeds. As our London buyer, Mr Ourney, has largely overshipped us in many useful lines of Plaiu Goods, we shall dispose of a lot at less than wholesale rates during the next fourteen days. Our half-yearly stock-taking and balance is fixed for the l!Lh of February, we therefore propose to wind u ( » this clearance on Saturday, the 16 h February. As the time is short and the season an inconvenient one for our country customers, many of whom will not be able to call, we have made special arrangements for the prompt execution of all orders received by post, and also r< quests for patterns or other information. In some instances the cpuantities are limited, we therefore respectfully solicit an early call or an order.
