This barque, one of Messrs Shaw, Saville and Co’s fleet, put in an appearance from London this morning, after a passage of ninety-two days from the Downs, having left, there on October 23rd. She brings six second cabin and nineteen steerage passengers and cargo. She Antares was beating up the harbor against a S.W. breeze when our express left the port. Her agents are Matheson’s Agency. H.M.S. NYMPHE AT WELLINGTON, On Friday afternoon the Nymphe, from Sydney, arrived off Wellington Heads, and at 6.45 p.m. she anchored in the usual man-of-war ground. She made the trip down under sail in thirteen days. She sailed from Sydney on the sth instant at 1.30 p m, and experienced strong S.E. winds for the first three davs ; thence had to the 15th light airs and calms, when a strong breeze from the westward was met with. The land was made on Friday morning, and the wind carried her down to the Heads, when it changed to the sonthward, with which she came into port under steam ns above-mentioned. Since the Nymphe has left here she has been to all the Australian colonies, with the exception of Tasmania and Queensland. She sailed from Nonmea to Sydney, and reached there on the 9th Nov.; thence she sailed for this port, arriving as previonslv mentioned. Since the Nymphe’s last visit here her then commander, Captain Snttie. was married in Sydney, whence he sailed for England. Captain Townsend came out from Home to relieve him. The length of the Nymphe’s stay is at present not known, but probably it will extend over three weeks, and then, says the “ Times,” she will go to Nelson and Canterbury, returning to this port, where she will await the arrival of the Wolverene, which is expected down here in March next. The Nymphe will afterwards most likely visit the Auckland Islands.
