POVERTY BAY EAOES. [BY TELEGBAnt.] [FBOM OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Gisbobne, January 18. At the races to-day the weather was splendid. There was a large attendance, and the racing was good. The following were the events and their results : MAIDEN PLATi;. West End 1 Gillie Galium 2 West End won easily. DISTRICT EACE. Flatcatcher 1 Silvius ... 2 Won by a neck. XADIES' PUESE. Perfume 1 Skybird 2 Shark 3 This was a very good race. tradesmen's handicap. The Worm 1 Gainsborough 2 Novice 3 Won by a length. There was not much betting on any of the events.
