Taranaki arrived from Northern Ports at 10 a.m., and sails for Akaroa and Dunedin this afternoon. The s.s. Taiaroa sails for Gore Bay to-morrows morning at 10 a.m. THE LORINDA BORSTELL, FROM NEW YOBK. Thiii American barqueutine, which has now been Borne time expected from New York with a cargo of Yankee nations, half of which is for Wellington, arrived yesterday. She comes consigned to Mr C. W. Turner, and has been 122 days on the passage. Captain Borstell, her master, reports leaving New York on September 18th. Had light variable winds principally adverse, to crossing the Equator on November 6th, forty-eight days out. Had good B.E. trades and fresh westerlies, some good runs being made. The Snares were passed on Snnday morninglast, and westerly and variable weather was oxperienced thence up the coast. Made the Peninsula on Thursday morning, and had N.W. weather till off the Heads yesterday m rning, when an. easterly breeze brought her to anohorage off the Breakwater at 1 p.m. yesterday. ARRIVAL OF THE HEREFORD, FROM LONDON. Tha fine ship Hereford, under charter to the New Zealand Shipping Co, with immigrants aboard, arrived this morning, anchoring shortly after ten off the Quarantine Island. She has made the pasfrom Plvmouth in eighty days. The health officer went off to the ship shortly after noon, and on arrival found all well on board. Only one death that of a seaman, from heart disease, has taken plac; during the passage. All is well with the :.m----migrants. Chicken pox being the only illne3S that has occurred.
