CITY GUARDS RIFLE MATCH.
The return match between Married v Single was fired a few days ago at the Hillsborough butts, also for the turkey given by Captain Hawkes, and a quantity of beer given by Mr W. Crowe. The conditions were the same as in the former match, viz., 200 and 400 yards; five shots at each range; Sin bull's-eye at 200yds. Considering the dull morning, some fair shooting was made, resulting in a victory for the single men by 18 points. The following are the scores :
The prize* were taken as follows : Captain Hawkes's prize—Private Ekberg. Mr Crowe's first prize—Private Francis. Mr Crowe's second prize—Sergeant Hill. Mr Crowe's third prize—Private G. Parker.
