Great preparations have been made for the reception of Sir Geo. Grey and the Hon. Mr Sheehan. A triumphal arch has been erected at the wharf and the town is gaily decorated. They will address a public meeting at the theatre to-night,

The poll taken regarding a proposed borough loan of £35,000 resulted in favor of the proposal by a small majority. The loan is intended for the following purposes —water supply, £16,000; drainage, £8000; beach protective works, £7OOO.
