Mails elose at the Chief Post Offloe for the following places as under, subjeot to necessary alterations : SATUKDAY, DECEMBEE 29. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. For Northern Ports, per "Wellington, at 1.50p.m.; late letters, at 2.10 p.m.; railway station, |per 2.40 p.m. train. For London, per Eangitikei, at 8 a.m. Letters must be specially addressed " per Eangitikei." MONDAY, DECEMBEE 31. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. For Chatham Islands, per Island Lily, at 9.30 a.m. For "Wellington and Westport, per Grafton, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, per 4 p.m. train.| The next English mail, via San Francisco, closes on or about January 4th, 1878.
