Mails close at the Chiet Post Office tor the folio-wing: places as under, subject to necessary alterations SATURDAY, DECEMBER 22. For Otago, per overland, at 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. For Otago, per Hawea at 11 a.m.; late letters at 11.20 a.m.; railway station per 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Taranaki, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, at 2.10 p.m.; railway station, per 2.40 p.m. train. For Knikoura, per Tni, at 4.45 p.m. The late letter box must not be used for Tui’s mails. For Akaroa, per Tongariro, at 4.45 p.m. The late letter-box, must not be used for Tongariro’s mails. MONDAY, DECEMBER 24. For Otago, per overland, at 6 a.m. For Melbourne, via Dunedin and Bluff, per Ringarooma (hour of doting future notice). Important.—Tuesday next, the 25th instant, being a postal holiday, all branches of the Post Office will be closed.
