[per press agency.] Dunedin, December 20. The Otago schools are combining to send exhibits to the Ballarat Juvenile Industrial Exhibition. The railway to Blueskin was opened for traffic to-day. Two trains run each day. Mr Charles Bright, free-thought lecturer, is engaged here for a year. He will commence in February next. The Otago Rifle Association’s annual prize firing commenced to-day. The committee of the Dunedin Hospital have appointed four honorary surgeons and four honorary physicians to the hospital. A meeting convened by circular is to be held at four o’clock to-day for the purpose of arranging a reception banquet to Messrs Macandrew, Larnach, and Stout. Mr Macandrew arrived yesterday; Mr Larnach will be here to-day.
