POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the 'ollowing plaoes as under, subjeot to neoessary alterations : Railway traffic on the Amberley section being interrupted, on Thursday, 20th instant, mails for offices on the main and branch lines will be sent by special express. There will be only one despatch that day for Northern offices, closing at Christchurch at 5.30 a.m., and arriving from the various districts at Christchurch late same night. THURSDAY, DECEMBER 20. For Otago, per overland, at 6 a.m. For Otago, per Wakatipn, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, per 12.10p.m. train. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 21. For Otago, per overland, at 11 a.m. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 22. For Northern Ports, per Taranaki, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, at 2.10 p.m.; railway station, per 2.40 p.m. train. A Post Office receiving-box has been opened at the store of Mr J. B. Sheath, corner of Tuam and Colombo streets. The hours of clearing will be 5.30 a.m., noon, and 5 p.m.
