Mails close at the Chief Post Offloe for the following places as under, subjeot to neoeasary alterations •■— WEDNESDAY, DECEMBEE 12. For Otago, overland, at (5 am. and 11 a.m. For Akaroa and Otago, per Wanaka, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m, ; railway station, per 12.10 p.m. train. For "Wellington and Nelson, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters at 2.10 p.m.; railway station, per 2.40 p.m. trainFor Timaru and Dnnedin, per St. Kilda, at 4.k> p.m. Late letter box, guard's van, must not be used for St. Kilda's mails. Letters must he specially addressed per St. Kilda. THURSDAY, DECEMBEE 13. For Otago, per overland, at 6 a.m. The next English mail via San Francisco closes on Saturday nesct, December 15th, at 3 p.m., and will be due in London on or about the 31st January, 1878. SYDNEY J.
