POST OFFICE NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following’ places as under, subject to necessary iltorations - MONDAY, DECEMBER 10. For Otago, per overland, at 6 a.m. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11. For Northern Ports, per Taupo, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago, overland, at 11 a.m. The next English mail via San Francisco closes on Saturday next, December 15th, at 3 p.m., and will be due in London on or about the 31st January, 1878. Important.—ln the month of January, 1878, an amended Time-table for the San Francisco mail service will come into force, providing that the outward mails shall be despatched ten days earlier than as at present arranged. The mail from Christchurch will therefore close on Friday, the 4th January proximo. SIDNEY J. DICK. Chief Postmaster.
