Sailed—December 5. Linnet, ketch, 17 tons, Molyueanx, for Pigeon Bay. Master, agent. Forest Qneen, ketch, 51 tons, Watchlin, for Wellington. P. Cunningham and Co., agents. The brig Robin Hood, from Newcastle, and Elizabeth Conway, from Picton, arrived this morning. THE MEROPE, Messrs Shaw Saville and Co.’s handsome ship Merope, Captain Sutherland, completed her loading yesterday morning, and during the afternoon was towed into the stream by the p.s. Titan. She is in grand trim, and went from the wharf as full as a nut, and with her decks clear and stock shipped ready for sea. Captain Sutherland evidently mean's to get home as rapidly as possible, for he has sky sail yards across, and as she towed out she looked a perfect picture both aloft and below, the painted ports suiting her sightly hull, and showing her splendid lines to great advantage. She will clear the Customs to-day, and sails on Friday, 7th inst. Besides a full cargo the Merope takes a fair number of passengers. ENGLISH SHIPPING. The Margaret Galbraith arrived off Scilly on October 3rd, and at Gravesend on October 11th. The Piako reached Plymouth on October sth; Gravesend on October 10th. The Laju, 556 tons, McWhirter, left Gravesend for Lyttelton on September 22nd, and passed Deal on the 23rd. The N.Z.S. Co.’s Opawa, Captain Young, left Gravesend on the 22nd, passed Deal on the 23rd, and sailed from Plymouth on the 27th. She brings the following passengers Misses Turpin (2), Robinson, and Bosomworth, Messrs G. Croft, W, H. Whittaker, H. Newbould, W. W. C. Karslake, J. Gell, Alex. Ross, S. McCarthy, and about 260 emigrants. CASUALTIES. The Cardigan Castle, from Loudon, for Melbourne, got on to the Mixen shoal on the morning of September 23rd, and remained for about a quarter of an hour. After getting oil, the vessel proceeded on the voyage, apparently uninjured. The Sobraon, from London, for Melbourne, whilst in tow, got ashore on tire night of September 2Sth, in Gravesend reach, but got off and proceeded. The Burgermeister von Middelburg, from Ornskjoldsvik to Adelaide, which put into Lisbon August 29th. with pumps choked with sand, has discharged all her cargo except about 500 planks. It is stated that all the sand ballast has been replaced by stone ballast; and the vessel, being perfectly tight, has commenced taking the cargo on board again. The whole of it will be reshipped, and the vessel will get to sea in about four weeks. The Jessore, from Liverpool, for Melbourne, was in collision with the steamer Consett, at 4 a.m. on October 10th, 100 miles off the Fastnet, and sunk about an hour afterwards ; all the passengers and and crew were saved and landed at Queenstown the following day ; baggage lost. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland, December 4. Arrived —Rotorua from Sydney. Passengers for Auckland —19; saloon for Wellington, Rev. Harrington, Dransfleld; for Dunedin, Watson, Mrs Master, Hemberium, Barker, Messrs Scott. Steerage—lß for Auckland, 2 for Napier, 1 for Greymouth, 1 for Westport, 8 for Lyttelton, 5 for Dunedin. Onehdnga, December 4. Sailed—Taranaki at 8 a.m, Passengers for Lyttelton, Mr and Mrs Ellis and family, Mr Stirling. Bluff, December 4. The Tararua arrived this afternoon. Left Sandridge on 28th; passed the Heads at Ip.m.; Swan Island on 2Sth. Experienced fine weather throughout the passage; arrived at Hobart Town on the 30th at 12.30 p.m. ; left same day ; experienced light variable winds until arrival. Brings 46 saloon and 22 steerage passengers for all ports. She sails at 7 p.m. for Dunedin. Passengers for Lyttelton— Saloon : Mr and Mrs Rhodes and family, Mr Disher, Mrs Wilcox, Mrs Macfarlare, 4 steerage.
