PARLIAMENTARY INCIDENTS.

THE WASTE LAXDS AXD LOAX BILLS. [from the correspondent of the press.] Wellington, December 4, 8 p.m. Mr Reid’s new clause in the Waste Lands Bill, extending the Auckland homestead system to all parts of the colony, has just been carried. The Bill is still under debate, but will probably bo finished to-night. The Government will probably give way in regard to the Loan Bill and allow the amount to be reduced to two millions, otherwise it will meet with strong opposition, and, perhaps, rejection. In the Upper House a great deal has to be debated in Bills still before the House, ido not think the House will get over before Saturday, if even then. The feeling here is strong against Sir Geo. Grey’s action in the matter of harbor defences.
