INTBRPROYINCIAL. [per press agency.] Auckland, December 1. Mr Crisp, an old settler at Mauka, is dead. Mr Hurst, the retiring Mayor, before hi? departure by the mail steamer, was presented with a farewell address and a massive silver centrepiece, Frank Hall, a Mangawai settlor, was thrown on the racecourse to-day. His jaw was much damaged, and several of his teeth were knocked out. He was taken to the Hospital in an insensible state. [from the correspondents of the press.] Dunedin, December 1. Owing to the scarcity of water supply the New Zealand Factory has suspended nearly 100 hands, and 200 are put on half-time. Amberley. December 2. Another public meet ing was held here last evening regarding the extension of the Northern Railway. A number of settlers from Waipara, Waikari, and Balcaim were present.
