POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office fop the following places as under, subject to necessary alterations TUESDAY, DECEMBER 4. For Otago, overland, at 11 a.m. For Otago, per Tatipo, at 11 a.m. ; lute letters, 11.20 a.m. ; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 5. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m., and 11 a.m. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 1.50 p.m. ; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, >2.40 p.m. train. A mail will bo despatched for the United Kingdom, via Suez Canal, per Orient steamer Cuzco, on or about December 6th. Correspondence must be specially addressed per Orient line. For London, per ship Merope, on or about Friday, December 7th. Correspondence must be specially addressed per ship Merope. Important—The following changes in local mail tragic have been made : Daily mails for Ashburton, Temuka, and Timaru now closed at 3.10 p.m. will, until tether notice, close at 4.30 p.m. The Killincny maij now closingat 3.10p.m. on Wednesday and Saturday wiii,.pntil further notice, close on the same days at 4.30 p.m, SYDNEY/.
