Cuff and Graham, agents. The s.s. Wakatipn arrived from Port Chalmers this morning. She leaves for Sydney via W elliugton in the afternoon. The s.s. Tni from Wellington, via Kiiikouras, arrived this morning, and will return again this evening. The Eangitikei has been loading cargo the last few days, as well as discharging. ATR.ETVAT. OF THE SUNBEAM FROM CALCUTTA. The barque Sunbeam arrived yesterday afternoon, after a splendid passage of fifty-nine days from the Hooghly. Captain Clayburn reports leaving the Sand heads on October Ist, and experiencing light and baffling winds in the Bay of Bengal. Crossed the Equator on October 19th, and had moderate trades which held to 28deg. south. From that point N.W. and westerly winds prevailed to Foveaux Straits, which were reached on Sunday last during a N.W. gale. On entering the Straits the wind shifted to the S.W., which breeze carried her as far as Cape Saunders; thence had N.E. winds to arrival as above. ARRIVAL OP THE HALCIONE FROM LONDON. The ship Halcione, Captain Croker, left the East India Docks on August 18th at 7 a .in. She anchored at Gravesend until 3 p.m., and then proceeded as far as the Nore light, where she anchored, the wind blowing strong from the westward. Passed the Downs on August 19th, and put the pilot ashore off Dungeness on the following day. Had fresh S.W. and southerly winds down the Channel, sighting the Start Point on August 23rd at 6 p.m., and passing Ushant with a fresh S.E. breeze next day. Had westerly winds across the Bay of Biscay', and caught'the N.E. trades in 27~33 north. They proved light, and were lost in lOdeg. north in a very heavy squall, which lasted for about two hours. Had light W.S.W. and S.W. winds and fine weather to 3deg. north, when the South East trades were fallen in with. Crossed the Equator on September 28th, forty days from Gravesend. Had fine light S.E. trades, and lost them in 20 south. Thence had light and moderate westerly breezes with smooth sea to 100 east. Passed the meridian of the Cape in 40 south, sixty-four days from Loudon, and thence had strong westerly winds to making Stewart’s Island on Saturday morning last. Passed the Nuggets on the same night, and had light N.E. and N.W. winds up the coast to arrival at anchorage at 6 p.m. yesterday off the breakThe" passage has been characterised by exceed ingly light winds and unusually fine weather, which, though pleasing to those on board, has prevented the ship from making a remarkably fast passage. She has been ninety-seven days from the start to anchorage, and 101 from the Downs. Her passengers speak well of the treatment received. The second class were lodged in part of the saloon, and the third class had comfortable quarters in the house on deck. She brings a full cargo, and comes consigned to Messrs Edwards, Bennett and Co. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Bluit, November 23. Arrived—Alhambra, at 10 a.m. Left Melbourne on the 21st; arrived at Hobart Town nest day ; left on the 24th. Brings 56 saloon and 37 steerage passengers and 290 tons cargo for all ports. Passengers for Lyttelton—Captain Mills, Messrs Bamford, Dawson, Raddon, Miss Swolbridge, Mrs White and children, and 11 in steerage, and 75 tons cargo. Sails at 4 p.m. for Dunedin.
