PARLIAMENTARY INCIDENTS.
[EBOM THE COBBESPONDENT OE THE PKESS.] j Wellington, November 24. j The Estimates were rushed through last night entire, the Government promising to make large reductions, but also promising to bring clown many additions in the Supplementary Estimates. Mr Orraond taunted the j Government with only having one member who did any work. To whatever department Bills related, Mr Shoehan had to take them through the House. He compared Sir G-eorge Grey to the figurehead of a ship— I ornamental, but of no use. Sir G-eorge Grey | returned, and Mr Maeandrew admitted that j he should have taken the Land Bill through j the House, but that he gave it to Mr Sheehan j to do, on account of his greater ability. This afternoon was completely wasted. Mr j Fox raised a question of breach of privilege about a speech by Dr. Wallis at Auckland, | but Sir George Grey somehow dragged in the > question of the Piako Swamp Purchase, and \ on the Piako Swamp the whole day was < spent. { To-night probably private business may be j proceeded with. If Sir George Grey pushes | his Triennial Parliaments Bill it will take all j night, but I understand he will drop it. If the session goes on much longer the j Ministry are likely to drop to pieces without j opposition, there being differences among the j party on the Land Fund, and Sir George J Grey's supporters are trying to bring the j session to a close as quickly as possible. <
