[By Telegraph.] Monday, November 19 The House met at 2.30. NEW MINISTER.
Sir G. Grey announced that the Hon. Hone Nahe has been sworn as a member of the Executive Council. He hoped the House would appoint an additional interpreter, as the Government wished Nahe to sit on the Ministerial benches. Major Atkinson quite concurred in the propriety of the request, but supposed that the new interpreter would be appointed by the Speaker, not by the Governments. The Speaker said if ha understood the House wished an interpreter appointed he would be one of its officers, and the appoint ment would rest with him. THE LAND BILL. The House then went into committee 01 the Land Bill. On clause 1, appendix 9, lain districts of Canterbury, Mr Stout moved ; proviso that the uniform price of 40s per acr should not apply to pastoral lands set apar for sale on deterred payments. After diecucueion the proviso was negatived by 32 to 3) The remainder of the Bill was passed, and oi its being reported, notice of recommittal wir in order to amend several sections.
