PARLIAMENTARY INCIDENTS.
[from the correspondent of the press.]
Wellington, November 17.
There is great talk of disclosures to be made in the Financial Statement of liberal proposals, ard of the settlement of the land fund question. The Opposition are waiting for the statement with anxiety. Mr Sheehan and Sir George Grey have not been agreeing at all lately. It is thought that Mr Sheehan, having risen to power on Sir George Grey’s shoulders, wishes to get rid of him, and it is rumored that Mr Sheehan has been spoken to with a view of forming a Coalition Ministry. A most extraordinary proceeding has been going on at the Government Buildings. The Treasurer, instead of applying to the heads of departments for information, has been sending a messenger round to get the names and salaries of the clerks in each room.
