POST OFFICE NOTICES.
MONDAY, November 19,
For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. Mails per Arawata will close as under For the United Kingdom, via Southampton and Brindisi, at I p.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For the Continent of Europe, Point de Galle, India, China, and the East, Mediterranean Ports, &c., Ac., at 1 p.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For Otago, and Australian Colonies, at 1 p.m.; late letters, 1.20 p.m. For posting registered correspondence, noon. Money orders can be obtained np to 11 a.m. Newspapers and book packets must bo jwsted before noon. Late letters for transmission per Arawata on the 19th iust. can be posted in guard’s van attached to the 2.30 p.m. train for Lyttelton, provided such letters bear an additional rate of postage as a late fee. For Chatham Islands, per Island Lily, on or about November 22nd. For Local mails and postal rates, see Guide No. 16. A new post office has been opened at 'VVatertou, Ashburton County, and Mr Henry Hudson appointed postmaster. Mr Joseph Fowler has been appointed postmaster at Chertsey, and the office removed from the railway station to Montgomery and Co.’s store. RUSSELL J. GOODMAN, Acting Chief Postmaster.
