Dalgety, Nichols, and Co, agents. Passengers—Eighteen original. Sailed —November 10. Flying Squirrel, ketch, 19 tons, Munro, for Akaroa. Master, agent. The s.s. Tui arrived at 9.30 last night, from Wellington and Foxton, via Kaikouras. She sails on return trip to-day. The s.s. Rotorua, from Port Chalmers, arrived to-day at 11. She sails with the inward 'Frisco mai this afternoon. The Mary Ann Annison arrived in Melbourne on October 28th. The Maud Graham, schooner, was berthed at No. 3 Wharf to discharge, and the Ellerton at No. 4. The Empress of China and Queensland got under weigh yesterday morning, there beiug a light S.W. air. The wind, however, soon failed, and came round from the N.E., and they brought up. The Mary King, schooner, is loading from tho Crusader, for Timaru, and on arrival there will take in a return load of wheat for that ship. The Spec, schooner, is daily expected from the Sound with a cargo of timber for Mr George Mackay. The p.s. Luna loaded 100 tons cargo, and sailed on return trip North last night. The Cuzco made the passage to Adelaide in forty days and seven hours, including stoppages of one day seven hours. The actual steaming time was thirty-nine days; and the total mileage 11,929 miles, being an average daily run of 305 miles. THE GREAT SEA SERPENT. Yesterday morning Lyttelton was agitated with the report that those aboard the Arawata had seen an immense marine monster off Oamaru. Passengers and stewards spread the story, one gentleman affirming that the monster was at least 100 yards long. On making enquiries, however, our reporter discovered that the monster in question consisted of a row of black fish that showing rapidly were taken bylthe uninitiated as parts of one great wbole. The officer of the watch had been so amused by the report that he had failed to correct the error into 'Which the passengers had fallen. ISHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland, November 15.
