PARLIAMENTARY INCIDENTS.

THE LAND BILL. [from the correspondent op the press.] When the House met to-day, Mr Stafford asked Mr Larnach when he would make the Financial Statement. The reply w’as a request to give notice of the question —a most extraordinary proceeding. Mr Stafford also intimated that he would give notice of a question whether reports circulated that Civil Servants obstruct the present Government in obtaining information are true. On the Land Bill it was carried by a majority of ten that ninepence per sheep should be the minimum tax on sheep instead of a shilling. Some of the Government party say the Bill shall not pass after that. After tho division, before doors were unlocked, the question was raised that tho votes of the members interested must be struck out, and since the House met this question has been under debate. The scene when members had to speak with hats on, sitting down, during the division was very amusing. Mr Rolleston borrowed a hat he could not getlialf on, while other members vrero quite extinguished. The Land Bill will last in committee all night.

I_PER PRESS AGENCY,] Mr Sheehan will make his statement on Native affairs to-morrow.

Mr Stafford asked without notice to-day, when the Financial Statement would be made. Mr Larnach said if Mr Stafford gave formal notice to ask, he would attend to him. It is believed that the statement will be brought down to-morrow.
