[telegram from the agent-general.] General Gourka has taken a fortified strong Turkish position near Plevna, capturing Arhme Topai Pasha, together with the chief of the staff, many Turkish officers, 3000 soldiers, a whole regiment of cavalry, four guns, and other material. The Russian loss was great. Prince Sergius Maximilian was killed in a reconnaisance under the Czarewich. The bombai'dment of Plevna is proceeding. .Affairs at Shipka Pass are unchanged. A large Russian force has arrived at Kohorazan, and compelled Mukhtar Pasha to change his head quarters from Sevien to Copricoi. At Brzeroom the inhabitants are all called to arms, in consequence of the Russian advance. Kars is being bombarded, and part of the town is in flames.
