MAGISTRATES' COURTS.
CHEISTCHUECH. Tuesday, October 30. [Before G-. L. Mellish, Esq., E.M.] Drunkenness. —Charles Evans was fined 405., and one first offender, ss. False Pretences.—Louis Pierce Dugleaux was charged with obtaining £ls on false pretences, at Masterton, near Wellington. Detective Walker said he had arrested the man at the Theatre last night, when he admitted having obtained £ls from Mr Annibal, of Masterton, but he denied that thero had been any false pretenco in the case. He was remanded for eight days, bail being allowed, himself in £IOO, and two sureties of £SO.
