INTERPROVINCIAL.
[pee pbess agency.] Wellington, October 26. The sickness on board the Zealandia is small-pox. One of the crew was attacked with it shortly after leaving Rio Janiero, and is still ill. He was soon followed by another of the crew, who died in a few days. A third and fourth were attacked, and are yet suffering from the effects of the disease. There are several other cases of sickness on board, but not of a dangerous character. As the Zealandia had no immigrants, there was no doctor on board, and in consequence of the nature of the diseases on board, some difficulty was experienced in getting one to go into quarantine, but it is understood that the agents, Messrs Levin and Co., will send a medical man on board as soon as one is obtainable. Dunedin, October 26. A well-known Princes street firm has been summoned to appear at the Police Court tomorrow to answer the charge of a breach of the Employment of Females Act, 1876. The nomination for the Mayoralty has been fixed for November 3rd.
