A number of vessels sailed last night. The Wanaka, s.s., sailed at 1 p.in. The s.s. Wanaka left Port Chalmers at 5.30 p.m. 24th, and arrived in Akaroa at 9.30 a.m. 25th: left Akoroa at 11.15 a.m., and arrived in Lyttelton at 4.30 p.m. She brought 90 tons cargo, which she discharged last night at the Steamers'jWharf. She loads this morning and sails for Northern Ports at 1 pjn. We thank the purser for report. The John Knox, barque, Captain Davis, arrived yesterday afternoon. She reports leaving on Oct. 15th and*having cloudy weather and strong variable winds across, coming throngh the Straits on Sunday last; when off the Kalkouras encountered a Tery heavy hailstorm ; strong westerly winds prevailed thence to arrival. The George Noble comes to the Tunnel!Wharf today to discharge. Messrs Dalgety, Nichols and Co. have received a telegram stating that the Alhainbra left Melbourne on the 24th instant, for New Zealand.
