POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to necessary alterations: — WEDNESDAY, October 17th. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. For Wellington, Westport, and Greymouth, per Luna, at 3 p.m.; late letters, '6.20 p.m.; railway station, 4'p.m. train. THURSDAY, October 18. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. For Wellington and Nelson, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.30 p.m. train. For United Kingdom, via San Francisco, Friday, 19th inst. For United Kingdom, via Brindisi and Southampton, on Monday, October 22nd. A mail for London will be despatched on the 22nd inst., per Arawata, for transhipment to the steamship Chiinborazo, at Melbourne. Correspondence must be addressed per "Orient line."
