GERALDINE RACES. [by telegraph.] [prom the correspondent of the press.] Second Day. Timaru, October 12. The attendance was small, The weather was delightful. GERALDINE CUP. Mr Eav’s Danebury 1 Mr O’Brien’s Mufti 2 Phantom was scratched. Mufti had the lead from the start and kept it for half the distance, when Danebury went up and won easily. HACK HURDLE RACE. Mr Steward’s Sparrowtail 1 Mr Rodger’s Nelly ... 2 There were six entries. Sparrowtail led from start to finish and won easily. ladies’ purse. Mr Lunn’s Grey Momus 1 Mr Rodger’s Steamer 2 Mr Jones’s Fishhook 3 Momus led from the start, was shortly overhauled by Steamer, but soon shook him off and won as he liked. saddler’s stake. For this race there were six entries, Mr Rodger’s Nelly winning. The other events were not concluded when the train left.
