It was an English lawyer who drew up an indictment in which the prisoner at the bar was charged with killing a man with a certain wooden instrument called an ir n pestle. An ancient custom prevails in Sweden relative to the burial of spinsters. A smaH looking glass is placed in the coffin, so that when the last trump sounds the occupant may be affie to look to her own hair before going before the heavenly tribunal.
