CITY COUNCIL.
SPECIAL MEETING-. Monday, October 1. A special meeting of the Council was held at 3,30 p.m. Present—The Mayor, Councillors Ick, Ruddenklau, Radcliffe, Briggs, Pratt and Thomson. The Town Clerk produced copies of the official paper of August 29 th, and September sth, 12th, 19th, and 26th containing a notice of the special meeting to be held for the purpose of confirming a resolution. The Mayor said the special meeting had been called to confirm a resolution passed at a previous special meeting on the by-law for asphalting the footpaths of the city. On the motion of Cr. Ick, seconded by Cr. Thomson, it was resolved—“ That this Council confirms the resolution agreed to on 27th August, 1877, minute No. 3— ‘ That the Council do agree to pass the by-law now read, and that the Town Clerk be directed to summon a special meeting of this Council for the Ist October next at 3.30 p.m., for the purpose of confirming the resolution, and to give public notice thereof, and of this resolution as required by the Act, and that the seal of the Council be affixed to the said by-law in accordance with clause 340 sub-section 3 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1876.’ ” The seal of the Council having been duly affixed to the by-law, the Council adjourned.
