Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to necessary alterations : MONDAY, October 1. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Taupo, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.30 p.m. train. TUESDAY, October 2. For Otago and Australian Colonies, pur Ringarooma, at 1.50 p.m. : late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway siation, 2.30 p.m. train. For Sydney and Wellington, per Wakatipu, Friday, October sth. J. J. FITZGIBBON, Chief Postmaster.
